Dr. Christina Koloup
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Christina Koloup grew up in Fairfax, Virginia, where she was lucky enough to have her own horse in the family’s backyard. Being responsible for her beloved horse influenced her love for animal care early on in life—for Dr. Koloup, that passion just never wavered. She knew that she wanted to help others’ animal companions live happy, healthy lives, too! Dr. Koloup gets to do just that on a daily basis. She’s proud to serve as an Associate Veterinarian with the Western Branch Veterinary Hospital team.
Dr. Koloup earned her undergraduate degree in animal science at the University of Tennessee, and remained in Knoxville for veterinary school. Upon graduating in 2018, she joined her husband at Fort Riley in Kansas before spending 2020 in Dothan, Alabama. Once her husband left the Army, the couple relocated to Chesapeake in early 2021. It wasn’t long before Dr. Koloup had found her clinical home here at Western Branch Veterinary Hospital—she couldn’t be happier to help the pets and animal parents of the area!
One of Dr. Koloup’s favorite things about general practice is that she gets to dip her toes in all areas of veterinary medicine. On any given day, she might serve as a dentist, dermatologist, ophthalmologist, or surgeon! Of course, she’s also partial to snuggling adorable puppies. Most of all, Dr. Koloup loves knowing that her hard work makes a lasting impact on the families of the community.
When she’s not at work, Dr. Koloup can be found spending quality time with friends and family, going to the beach, cooking, reading, and crocheting. She and her husband, Chris, share their home with two loveable dogs: Indy, a Golden Retriever who tends to act more like a cat than a dog; and an Australian Shepherd who is rarely more than a few inches from Dr. Koloup or her husband.
